HeeWon Lee is a South Korean artist born in Gyeonggi Province. In 2001, she moved to France to study Communication Art Visuel at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Nancy and later completed the post-diplôme program at Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains in Tourcoing. From 2010 to 2020, she lived and worked in Paris, and she is currently based in Seoul while continuing to work between South Korea and France.

Her major achievements include receiving the Grand Prize of the Air France Young Artist Award (Jeunes Talents) at the Grand Palais in Paris (2010), being invited as an artist to La Nuit Blanche in Paris, and participating in Le Fresnoy’s 15th and 20th anniversary exhibitions at the Palais de Tokyo. Her work has also been shown at festivals and institutions such as 2062 at la Gaîté Lyrique (Paris), Trouble Makers at Festival Némo (Le 104, Paris), BIAN II at Cinémathèque Québécoise (Montreal), Mois Multi at Avatar (Quebec), and Digital Life at La Pelanda (Rome).

In addition to her independent practice, she has produced commissioned works for brands and institutions including Dom Pérignon, Schlumberger Primat-Distillerie des Ambres (France), Nuit Blanche Metz (France), d’strict (South Korea), and the Evergreen Foundation - LG Group (South Korea).
