FLOWER

Immersive installation, four-channel video projection with spatial sound, 2024

A commissioned artwork created for Hwadamchae, an art space within Hwadamsup Forest, operated by the LG Evergreen Foundation.

The time-lapse video images that magnify the process of blooming and withering visually reveal expanded details of the colors and forms of flowers, imprinting the texture of living organisms and transforming vision into touch. In these vibrant images of creation and extinction, expanding and contracting to the melody, the flower is no longer an object of mere viewing or contemplation but becomes an interactive presence that engages and plays with all senses.
This reflects the artist's wish to restore a primordial communion with nature, akin to the ancient sensitivity of a child who used to personify everything and interact with it.
